This role sits within the project delivery team of a large, global data centre developer, delivering its first Sydney data centre, with further projects already in the pipeline.
Based primarily on site in Western Sydney, you’ll be hands-on with the commercial side of delivery, supporting project leaders and directors with the financial detail that keeps the project moving. It’s a role for someone who enjoys being close to the action, understands how projects are really run and wants to grow into a broader commercial leadership position over time.
Day to day, you’ll manage budgets, commitment capture and cost control, work through variations, vet claims and support progress payments alongside external Quantity Surveyors. You’ll also contribute to commercial reporting and present information to project directors, giving you strong visibility and influence early on.
This is a developer-side role, but you don’t need deep data centre experience to be successful. A background in head contractor construction, heavy services such as aged care, hospitals or infrastructure translates well, as does experience in a QS or consultancy environment where you’ve been involved at the front end of projects. You’ll bring solid commercial fundamentals, alongside commercial curiosity, comfort with numbers and a willingness to roll your sleeves up and learn.
The business is well established globally and scaling its Australian operations, with this Sydney project forming a key part of that growth. You’ll be joining early, with a clear opportunity to grow into a Commercial Manager role as the local pipeline expands.

The role is site-based in Western Sydney, with flexibility for one or two days working from home depending on project requirements, with a salary up to $170k plus super and a 10% bonus.
