If you want a role where your engineering decisions genuinely shape the direction of a major upgrade, this project in South Gippsland could suit you. It’s close enough to Melbourne for a realistic commute, yet far enough that you’ll feel the difference in space, pace and the type of work you’re trusted with.
This project blends heavy civil, structural and marine elements, and both sides of the work need experienced Project Engineers who can stay across detail, manage subcontractors and keep quality tight. Whether your background leans towards piling and wharf structures or concrete slabs, pavements and ground improvement, the team is looking for engineers who can take ownership of a package and run it smoothly.
Day-to-day, that means coordinating on-site activities, guiding subcontractors, resolving technical questions before they become issues, and staying ahead of sequencing and procurement. You’ll be working alongside experienced site, engineering and commercial leads, so you’ll have the support, structure and clarity needed to deliver confidently. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract linked to the first stage of the upgrade, and the salary package sits in the $150k-200k range.
The business behind this upgrade is a national D&C company known for practical leadership and well-run delivery. Their projects span warehousing, commercial buildings and onshore marine and civil works across Australia. This $100m stage in Victoria marks a long-term commitment to the region.
To be considered for this role, you’ll need a degree in civil or structural engineering and at least five years of experience on either heavy civil, pavement or marine projects.
