This is a site-based role for someone who understands marine construction and wants real ownership over complex, high-risk works. You will be trusted to run critical piling and wharf activities on a major upgrade, with the authority to make on-site decisions and the backing of a structured delivery team. If your background is in bridges, piers or waterfront infrastructure, we are keen to speak with you.
The scope centres on piling installation, marine and near-shore structures, temporary works, access platforms, and heavy structural elements, all tied into a live wharf. The work is sequence-driven and unforgiving, so your day-to-day focus will be on controlling methodology, coordinating specialist subcontractors, managing cranes and marine plant, and keeping quality, safety and program tightly aligned. You will lead crews in challenging conditions, resolve issues early, and maintain momentum across the technically demanding stages of the build.
The contractor is a national D&C business with a strong track record in complex infrastructure and marine-adjacent works. Their Victorian team has been deliberately assembled for this program, with experienced engineering, commercial and site leadership in place. The structure is organised, expectations are clear and decisions are made with delivery in mind rather than layers of red tape.
This is a 14-month fixed-term contract based in South Gippsland, requiring you to be local during the working week. The broader program extends beyond this stage, creating potential for follow-on work. The package sits between $170k and $220k, including super, depending on experience, with uplifts negotiable. Accommodation and meals are provided.
To be considered, you will need a minimum of five years’ experience supervising piling, marine or bridge works on projects of comparable scale and complexity. You must be confident working with specialist subcontractors and operating in high-risk environments, and you will need extensive experience working with the CFMEU.
