Environmental Advisor

If you’re looking for a role where your environmental capability influences decisions instead of sitting in the background, this project will appeal to you. It’s based in South Gippsland, and for those coming from Melbourne, the move offers more balance, cleaner air and a quieter lifestyle that sits nicely alongside a complex, career-defining project.

The work itself blends civil and structural elements at scale, and the team has been built deliberately rather than inherited, which means you’re joining a group of people who want to do things properly from day one. The company is a national D&C business recognised for practical leadership and well-run projects, and this $100m first stage comes with clear scope, organised systems and experienced engineering and commercial support.

Your role centres on embedding environmental standards into day-to-day operations. That includes being present on site, supporting supervisors, guiding subcontractors and helping the project team navigate environmental risks before they become issues. You’ll run risk assessments, monitor conditions, oversee contaminated soil and hazardous material handling, and make sure the right controls are in place for activities with elevated environmental exposure. You’ll also be involved in incident reporting, investigations, continuous improvement, and delivering environmental inductions and toolbox sessions that actually resonate instead of just ticking a box.

To be considered for this role, you must have a Certificate IV in Environmental Management (or related field), a minimum of three years’ experience in an environmental advisory capacity and practical exposure to civil construction environments.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with the potential for more as the broader upgrade progresses, and the package sits between $140k and $180k depending on experience.
